These guns have a cult like following, yet very little information is found on the web about this model. The 25-5 has the longer cylinder. The 25-5 around 1982 changed from a pinned to a none pinned barrel. The first S&W .45 Colt designed and cataloged as a shooter was the Model 25-5 from about 1978. 4, 6 and 8-3/8 inch barrels with blue and nickel finish. Made until 1988. Gun is very clean, there are some very light scratch on the barrel.
